Controller Installation Agreement

Requirements Per Agreement to Start-up a ReWater Controller and ReWater System

TYPE OF REWATER SYSTEM: City of Los Angeles Compliant or Rain Harvesting backed-up

Coordinate with the General Contractor and/or architect for place to locate the ReWater controller. To make maintenance easy, it usually sits within eyesight of the filter vessel on a wall at chest height (@60” off the floor).

Both high voltage supplies (110 VAC 20 amps, and 220 VAC 30 amps) start in the metal box side of the ReWater controller.

You only need 110 VAC if your pumps are 110 VAC. You need both 110 VAC and 220 VAC if your pumps are 220 VAC.

Power supplies must be brought to the metal box side of the ReWater controller, live at their breakers, and grounded before the controller can be wired up.

All low voltage (24 VAC) wires start in the plastic box side of the ReWater controller.

High voltage and low voltage wires must be in separate conduits.

The required conduits from the controller, and the wires inside those conduits, are:

If 220 VAC PUMPS: High Voltage (metal) side of ReWater controller:
One 1” conduit to the greywater pump (220 VAC, 3/10 gauge)
One 1” conduit to the fresh water pump (220 VAC, 3/10 gauge)

If 110 VAC PUMPS: High Voltage (metal) side of ReWater controller:
One 1” conduit to the greywater pump (110 VAC, 3/12 gauge)
One 1” conduit to the fresh water pump (110 VAC, 3/12 gauge)

Low Voltage (plastic) side of ReWater controller:
One 1” conduit to the float switch in the greywater tank (24 VAC, 2/18 gauge)
One 1” conduit to the filter vessel for the filter’s valves (24 VAC, 6/18 gauge)
One 1.5” conduit to outside the building where the greywater irrigation pipe exits for the irrigation valves (leave pull rope)

Bring the conduits to within 1’ below the controller on their correct side of the controller (low voltage on the plastic box side, high voltage on the metal box side).

Leave 3’ of extra wire extending out of the conduits.

If any wire junctions are made between the controller and the connected equipment, that junction shall be made in an easily accessible water proof junction box 12” above floor/flood level and its location noted at the controller.

NOTE: You need a filler to control the fresh water in the fresh water tank. We recommend a Levelor K-1100 because it has electronics to discontinue flow during a valve malfunction. That Levelor unit can sit on the wall next to the ReWater controller for simplicity. It requires either a 110 or 220 VAC power supply, with a 1” conduit needed for its sensor in the fresh water tank.
